Nova Remnant Around V347 Nor (2013)

Weird nebula around V347 Nor. I thought this was a planetary nebula at first but it turns out it’s a nova remnant. There is a paper on it here.

Note the nebula is expanding rather noticeably so I only used both of these Hubble files for the stars and background. It just helps smooth out the noise a tad bit. The nebula itself only uses the 09082 file. Colors are of course arbitrary since there is only one filter.

All channels: hst_09082_01_wfpc2_f658n_pc_drz + hst_09965_01_wfpc2_f658n_pc_drz

North is up.

Hubble data is public domain, but I put a lot of work into combining it into beautiful color images. The minimal credit line should read: NASA / ESA / J. Schmidt
