Written on the back: #44 Our first V.J. Day (August 10, 1945) The men went wild. This was an exposure of about 45 seconds and the celebration lasted, in full force, for about two hours and a half. It was beautiful to say the least. This and the next shot were just of the inner harbor (small craft). The outer harbor was a greater sight but is about nine miles to the main celebration so I didn't get a shot of it.
