Stellarium (2009)

Ok, this isn’t really a drawing or a painting or anything, but I want to share it anyway. Mainly, I just enjoy looking at sparkling stars. I currently envy anyone who’s in a rural location and is able to see the night sky unimpeded by light pollution. Living in New York City, I’m lucky to see Jupiter or Venus now and then.

So this is something I created with the help of Stellarium, an open-source program which simulates the night sky. I took several screenshots at various settings within Stellarium and then applied a few different filters and techniques to bring out the colors and make them glow.
