Lindsay 38 is one of many star clusters located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. It is named Lindsay after Eric Mervyn Lindsay, an Irish astronomer. Many objects in space are named after the persons who helped catalogue and describe them. I tried finding more information about the catalogue but it’s very esoteric. Faint, red background galaxies speckle the space between the stars and around the brightest red one you might be able to see a very faint gravitational lens.

Hubble data is public domain, but I put a lot of work into combining it into beautiful color images. The minimal credit line should read: NASA / ESA / J. Schmidt
