NGC 3077 Phoenix (2012)

This is a molecular complex near NGC 3077. I don’t know enough to say much about it. The fountain of light on the left is an artifact called “dragon’s breath” which happens sometimes when a bright star is just outside the image frame. Usually, they are removed because they are distracting but I kind of like it.

Hubble data is public domain, but I put a lot of work into combining it into beautiful color images. The minimal credit line should read: NASA / ESA / J. Schmidt
