After a long break from the HLA I came back to it yesterday and quite quickly came across this UVIS data for M100. Even though three filters were used, the colors came out a little flat. Still, it’s a nice galaxy. I resisted the urge to clone data into the chip gap and instead ended up with some pretty blurry, low resolution data from MAST so if you notice that blurry, odd colored line, that’s what that is.
Data used:
hst_11646_01_wfc3_uvis_f555w_sci
hst_11646_01_wfc3_uvis_f475w_sci
hst_11646_01_wfc3_uvis_f775w_sci
Some of the chip gap data:
hst_05195_51_wfpc2_f555w_wf_sci
hst_05195_51_wfpc2_f439w_wf_sci
hst_05195_01_wfpc2_f439w_wf_sci
hst_05195_01_wfpc2_f702w_wf_sci
hst_05195_51_wfpc2_f702w_wf_sci
The rest was a “search preview” from the MAST search result. The preview files didn’t have proper filenames and I lost track of which ones I used.

Hubble data is public domain, but I put a lot of work into combining it into beautiful color images. The minimal credit line should read: NASA / ESA / J. Schmidt
