WR 31a (2014)

A remarkable nebula around a Wolf-Rayet star known as WR 31a. I’d love to see some H-alpha data for this. It could be a wind nebula similar to the one around WR 124 but it sure doesn’t look very similar. Hrm. Another treasure dug up from proposal 15036.

Hubble data is public domain, but I put a lot of work into combining it into beautiful color images. The minimal credit line should read: NASA / ESA / J. Schmidt
