Airship WIP (2005)

People have shown interest in my process so I figured I’d post some WIP stages.

It starts out as a basic sketch. Nothing spectacular… a vague idea on a single layer. There’s not a lot of contrast or color because that’s something I tend to build up and also change my mind a lot on as I go.

Moving along you can see me working on the biggest things first, then adding details later. I do make major compositional adjustments as I progress because I guess the digital medium just allows it easily. I’d be in trouble if I did this traditionally. Or, at least, I’d have to restart several times.
